I had the "Kleen Wheels" on my `94 SL for about a month, and they did work

well. A trip around the block (I live in the woods... big blocks here!) used

to be sufficient to dirty up the wheels, but they did remain clean when the

guards were installed.

Unfortunately, they also filled the open space one normally sees when

looking at/through the wheels, giving my pristine alloy wheels the

appearance of cheap hubcaps! I could not bear the sight of my baby being

humiliated with the look of hubcaps, so yanked `em out and gave them to a

fellow MB owner who is less persnickety than I about those sorts of things!

Paul (also an old fart! :o)

I read online that the European rotors on the E500 are larger than rotors on

the vehicles that are sold in the United States. The United States

vehicles uses the European rotors that are designed for the 4-cylinder

models in Europe. The European E550 has the 350 mm rotors in the front

and 320 mm rotors in the rear. Can these rotors be obtain and used in the

US.

Possibly if you change all the rotors, calipers, mounting bracket, pads and

possibly your wheels if no room.

I find MB rotors tend to be enough for most people. The biggest single

improvement I highly recommends to anyone who wants better brake is to

change the brake pads to aftermarket brands. It is instant, economical and

major improvement over factory pads. For most people, I would stick with

Ceramic type pads such as Akebono Euro Ceramic pads.

Next stop up would be Hawk racing pads sold by Tirerack... PBR Metal

Master... but with these pads, you must understand that the pads need to be

warmed up for optimal braking power... so the first braking action in the

morning seems kinda numb but after this, the hotter it get, the more

grabbing power it has. I have been using Metal Master for years... I think

about 13 years... This is tried and true pad old tech.

Carbon pads are best used to tracks only...These really really needs to be

warmed up. Unsuitable for normal driving unless you really are willing to

understand the behavior of these pads.

I don`t know or have any experience with the latest pads... I once had

Performance Friction Carbon pads back in 1993 and boy, they really need warm

up.

Title: Gleecap: "Throwdown"

AJAX

“I’m so elegant, regal.  I am Ajax, mighty Greek warrior.”

– Sue Sylvester, declaring war on Will Shuester

“Throwdown” starts appropriately enough with Sue and Will fighting like cats and dogs in their new positions as Glee co-directors.  Principal Figgins calls them in to his office to make them promise that things are hunky dory, which they do … while uttering death threats to each other in a phony embrace.

Will escorts Finn and Quinn to their first sonogram, and they find out the baby’s a girl.  Rachel gets blackmailed into giving up her panties to Jacob, the geeky school newspaper editor, in exchange for his promise to hold the story about Quinn’s secret and, perhaps more scandalous, Rachel’s crush on Finn.

Sue and Will fight each other for the hearts and minds of the Glee club singers.  Professing not to “ignore the needs of minority students,” Sue calls together a special “elite” sub-section of Glee in an effort to stack the decks for Sectionals (“Santana!  Wheels!  Gay Kid!  Asian!  Other Asian!  Aretha!”).

Tensions between Will and Terri reach the boiling point as he complains about not being a central part in her fictitious-although-he-doesn’t-know-it pregnancy.  Terri panicks as Will promises to take her to her next OBGYN visit.

Title: Fireball's Cool Designs of the Week!
Date: Wed, 23 Sep 2009 09:41:40 +0000
Author: Fireball Tim

What is going on in this world? Ideas are merging, blending, taking shape, radically departing but staying the same. And that’s our world. Change.

Many people fear change. Maybe because it’s unknown. The question is, “What if you DID know the answer?” To everything? Would life be the same? Would you even be interested? Change is good. It keeps us on our toes, makes life adventurous, and forces us to have faith in things unseen.

Fortunately for you, you get to SEE this week’s designs. Some are wicked cool, some way not. But change is in the air, therefore, this week’s theme. Entitled?

CHANGE!…… DANGIT!

1. THE AUDI E- TRON ELECTRIC

Audi_E_tron_R8

Remember the Audi in “IRobot?” How could you not? It was in every DANG scene of the movie. Along with Will Smith’s beefy bod. (I had enough of that after the first scene… whatever) Well, Audi has taken their R8 and made it sweeter. Electric. And… Red. And red is good. Electric? Yea, that’s cool, but RED is cooler. Just think of RED things. Cherries. Megan Fox’s Lips. A stubbed toe. Ok,… maybe not the last one. But red is cool, dangit. (Check out the AutoDissection on the R8 here.)
