The fuse should be nr 12. A list of all fuse numbers and gadgets should

be present in the cover of the fuse compartment. Fuse 12 feeds

instrument bulbs and safety relais for electric windows .

Suspects next to fuse are the brake light switch down behind the brake

pedal and the connector nr 8 to the complete rear lamps set. The only

other connection from brake light switch goes to the tempomat.

Information source is the wiring diagram of the european W 123 280E

1982. But the main electric features are the same for all types of 123.

That`s really helpful, thanks a lot. I`ll check it out.

One question though, if the fuse 12 goes to all instrument bulbs and

safety relais for electric windows, shouldn`t my other instrument

lights be out, like the headlights, electric windows, etc? Everything

else works fine...

It`s suspect that BOTH brake lights are out (meaning, its definitely

not a loose bulb, etc), and that is all. So could this mean its more

likely the brake light switch?

As linhas são conhecidas. Tirando a capota.
