"My 2001 C320 brake sensor is still good I guess because by the time I
checked my brake pads the light was not on yet. I only disassembled the
pads because I found out that the metal is too close to the disk that
causes the squeaking sound, so I made a little adjustment, make it even
to
both sides. By the time I put it back all together the squeaking sound
is
gone but the indicator went on.I was wondering why the lights come on
by
the time I fix the brake. Is there any way I can reset it? "
Something doesn`t sound right here. In the cars I`ve worked on, the
metal noise maker and the electrical sensor indicator are independent.
It seems both are telling you the pads are worn out, but you say they
are OK? I`ve never seen the metal noise generator need adjusting. How
far off could it be and how much pad could be left to be worth fooling
around with compared to just replacing the pads?

The light is turned on when the electrical sensor on the pads is grounded,
normally by contacting the rotor. Maybe the insulation on the lead on the
sensor is broken and allowing it to ground to the frame? Also, there is a
brake fluid level sensor, although I am not certain if that illuminates the
break wear indicator or the parking brake indicator, but it`s worth checking
your fluid level.

I found where the problem is...
It`s not the master cylinder.
The brake fluid tank consists of two separate compartments - one for the
front and one for the rear wheels. The two compartments communicate via very
small orifice close to the upper wall of the tank. In order to get fluid to
the second compartment one must fill the front compartment TO THE TOP and
even to tilt and shake the tank, and to repeat this several times until the
rear compartment is also full. Then the bleeding of the rear well can
continue.
I read about the bleeding procedure in several books but nowhere was even
mentioned that one must maintain the tank always full to the top.
Well, now I have my brakes again and a spare master cylinder in very good
condition.

Mercedes-Benz has figured out a creative way to differentiate itself from the rest of the auto brands in the Gulf region by going “Sharia” compliant. Teaming up with the UAE based dealers, Gargash and Al-Fahim, Mercedes launched two companies named Mercedes-Benz Finance Middle East and Mercedes-Benz Leasing Middle East which will offer buyers in the UAE a chance at financing their cars without going against any Islamic Sharia rules.
Due to the economic crisis, automakers have to think outside the box to aid their struggling network of dealers around the world. Quite creative if you ask me. Mercedes -Benz plan on rolling this concept out through the rest of the region some time in the future.
